One-Day Intensive
The Interactive Fiction Intensive
10.24.26 | 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM PDT 6 hours in one focused day
You arrive having never written a line of Ink. You leave with a branching story published to the public shelf of a real game, played, that same afternoon, by other people in the room. This is a studio, not a lecture. One story, built all day in escalating passes, with the technique arriving exactly when your story needs it. You start from a nine-room skeleton that runs the moment you paste it, decorate it into something that is yours, then learn to make it remember what the reader did. No coding experience. No installs. Everything runs in your browser. What you are actually learning, without anyone making a fuss about it, is programming: variables, conditionals, state machines, functions. You will just think you are writing a story. Pay what you can, from $100. Pay the suggested $200 and you send someone else for free, a full-price seat funds exactly one scholarship seat for this class.

- Track state so the story remembers what the reader did
- Structure with chained diamonds, avoiding both combinatorial explosion and the on-rails feeling
- Use AI where it is genuinely good, filling a shape, and recognise where it is not
- Publish a playable story to The Spaces Between
