Multiverse West
Multiverse West 2024
Overview of the Event
Multiverse West will take place from July 18th to July 21st, 2024!
Join us in San Francisco for an exciting lineup of salons, talks, and networking events. We'll showcase innovative projects, engage in thought-provoking discussions, and immerse ourselves in the latest AI advancements. This is your chance to connect with group members in-person, collaborate on groundbreaking ideas, and enjoy the vibrant AI community.
Plus, there will be plenty of hugs to go around! (Only if you're into it, of course.)
Please note that this page will evolve as we get closer to the event! Check back for more information soon.

Schedule
July 18th: Demo Day
We are looking for innovative and engaging presentations. Share your expertise and contribute to the event's success by submitting your demo today!
July 19th: Salon - Popcorn Teams
Team formation will arise from a salon-style, intimate Multiverse-only talk at my place. We'll record multiple camera angles and have mics to capture content (you'll have final approval). Participants can opt out of scenes they’re in, and we’ll have a non-filmed section for contributions without visibility. There will also be an online option with a chat moderator via Gather Town.
July 20th: Hackathon
All-day hackathon focused on AI agents. We’ll be coding together, with me assisting all teams. The event will take place at my place in the Mission district. While it will be tight, we can accommodate quite a few people. There’s an upstairs area, and several people will have their own hotels, so teams can be somewhat distributed. In the evening, we'll have a big group potluck dinner to accommodate various dietary requirements. A list of dietary needs will be posted, turning it into a fun challenge for everyone.
July 21st: Brunch + Salon
In-person brunch to recover from the hackathon and share experiences, a casual discussion, maybe some demoing on phones, because everyone will be wiped out and not prepared to present anything. Rumors and tension will build until the Virtual Demo Day in Miami.
COVID Policy
We are a COVID-safe community. We plan to wear masks when possible (e.g., when not eating).
We do not plan on organizing any nights out to crowded indoor spaces, so we'll try and organize takeout and visits to parks, etc., for COVID-friendly social outings.
For more details on our health and safety measures, please refer to our COVID policy.
About the Mission District
Some events will occur in the Mission District, one of San Francisco's most vibrant neighborhoods. The Mission is known for its rich cultural history, diverse community, and lively atmosphere. With its colorful murals, eclectic mix of restaurants, and unique boutiques, the Mission is the perfect backdrop for Multiverse West.
About the Organizer: Liz the Developer
Liz Howard is an engineering leader, a teacher, an artist, a music producer, and an all-around engineer. She helped to found Hackbright Academy, Hipcamp, Enki.com, and several engineering programs at organizations like CodePath, Galvanize, and Tradecraft.
They dump their feelings and their daily goings on out on Twitter, rant about lots of stuff on TikTok, and are a much more corporate-friendly version of themselves on LinkedIn.
