Multiverse Report - 12.15.24
🏴☠️ 12/15/2024 Multiverse Report 🏴☠️
Last week to go for the year. I am ready for a real break. I have no plans, so that I can get properly bored over the break. I so need it. I've been going at maximum burn for 18 months. I do honestly love my work, but I barely have time to read all the cool links people send me and I need a little big of alone time to settle, and dream up the future. I might even be online sometimes- I just need a lack of a schedule for a moment.
The TikTok ban would be super catastrophic for The Multiverse School. I have a lot of confidence we can turn things around, or that maybe the ban won't pass but it's been difficult to keep up on the edge of research, teach, make content and cross-post to multiple platforms. Part of the reason it's easy for me to make content is that the TikTok editor is so good and I don't usually have to think too hard about how I look when I'm making a video about a paper because people on TikTok yearn for the authentic. I will miss it so much. I don't know what I will do if I lose that community.
I'm slowly beginning to release paper readings on Youtube instead of on TikTok- subscribe there for some exclusive paper overviews because it's the only platform that allows 7+ minute videos. See me there for Let's Read a Paper.
Chris is going to get some of the research team on the internet sharing your brilliant minds. You PEOPLE are fascinating and you're working on such interesting stuff, and I'd love to tell everyone. You're good content, seriously, I could listen to you folks talk all day. It's partly why I do this.
Guess what? I'm bringing Job Search Standup back! 🎉 In January, for a 12-week stint. Then we'll take a break until May, then do another 12 weeks. I think 2 12-week sessions per year is about what I can handle, but I did want to bring it back because it's been requested multiple times. We'll have new pricing options, including a post-placement payment plan.
Sign Up To Get Involved With The Robots Here - We'll probably actually schedule The Robot Retreat next season, this is where you can get updates.
We're looking for:
- People who want to Learn About Robots
- People who have Resources to Contribute
- People who have Existing Robot Skills
- Fundraising help
I cancelled the remaining sessions in the reteach because no one showed for the first ones. I'll probably release "the long tail" of topics I haven't yet taught as videos on YouTube.
