This newsletter is great but too long these days, so I've stripped out the weekly class schedule. I also fixed the thing that sends you the class schedule every week so that you get an up-to-date link to campus with each class schedule. I'm slowly making this whole thing easier to learn. The chaos is something I've chosen, partly to be slightly inaccessible to folks who are going to struggle with the pace of change and my ability to hold your hand through the multiverse portal. I could easily make everything run by agents, but that would imply a level of attention I'm not able to bring, and I'm not trying to convey I have infinite capacity just because the robots do. People's mental models haven't adapted, and until you've gone through the multiverse trainings you tend to over-estimate the amount of human attention that goes into any AI interaction, and whether or not I am even aware of the interaction.

I made a thing that will generate a script and read you a story. It's easy to extend because it isn't very complicated. Have fun with it.

Also I add AI tools and papers to this every week, should be useful and not alarming.

The research program will return soon. Give me some time to figure out when it should actually happen & I'll call a meeting. Get your research proposals ready.

This time around: The research team is a 100% free program, not a discount on the membership. Next year I hope to have a stipend available for researchers. That said, it will still be invite-only. Apply by proposing projects over email, I'll respond to those of you who are in.

In other news, every piece of information related to anyone here being neurodivergent has been scrubbed from our databases. All teacher notes, applications, anything you filled out related to the Multiverse School and being neurodivergent has been erased from our systems, including backups. We'll be scrubbing anything that could be used to specifically identify you as neurodivergent. It's now too compromising to keep around.

If the autism lists affect you, have your data deleted from BetterHelp. Under many state laws, you can also request private insurance companies and any doctors you have worked with delete your medical data, or specific elements of your data. HIPPA is what controls this. That said, who knows what really happens to it. Unfollow groups on facebook that suggest that you're neurodivergent. Stop liking things on social media related to neurodivergence. This all sucks, it can help reduce the probability you get swept up in a dragnet.

Look, people ask me what I recommend to keep your data secure- ya gotta understand that privacy is an extreme lifestyle but maybe what you need. The book I linked (a non-affiliate direct-purchase link of a pdf you can download) is about as up-to-date as you can get. I don't feel comfortable selling you something based on the world's state, I feel like it's opportunistic. I can recommend that book, but be warned any opsec list that's in a book is decaying, rapidly.

Want to talk to neurodivergents about neurodivergent stuff safely? Get. A. Meshtastic. Node. Talk there.

Completely unrelated to resistance and included in this section for no particular reason, did you know that mesh grates and old, unused chain-link fence can be used to make caltrops? I can't think of any reason you'd need them and they might not be legal in your state. Be careful- this could really mess up someone's car if they drove over them. Don't use them near any points of exit for a crowd because protestors could be hurt. I love random facts.

Does anyone have a 3d printer file for that thing? You know the thing. Do not email it to me.

Multiverse Programs

ok the robots thing will be starting in June. Yes, you can apply to get involved. Let's seize those means.

I scheduled a new track of Prompt Engineering! We've revamped and updated the Prompt Engineering curriculum to cover Advanced RAG, and this week we'll start covering Model Context Protocol since it seems like the AI world is standardizing tools around MCP. It starts this week! Monday, at 5PM!

Solarpunk Standup is going on still - this is first assembly. Bring your problems, needs, and we'll get the community problem-solving. This is included in any membership tier and for anyone currently in a class or anyone I've said can just come.

Job Search / Brandup Standup will be from 9am - 10am Pacific. This is where you'll work on either search for jobs (literally apply to jobs, put in proposals, pitch contracts, do outbound emails), or your personal brand (literally the stuff like your website, social media post, mass communications, etc).

Are you learning some tech stuff? We launched a lot of free tools for learning to code recently. These are Custom GPTs that will run fully customizable courses- just tell them where you're at! They each assume some amount of knowledge, but if you don't have it, that's fine! Just tell them how new (or how experienced) you are and it will add enough supplementary materials for you.

Math and Python are still being run as Community Classes- this means if you're on any tier (or frankly if you've paid for a class at one point) you can drop in to get help with Math or Python.

Don't forget to join us on Matrix, where we'll stay tight-knit and coordinated, run mutual aid groups, and keep everyone safe. This is going to be a rough few years. Let's keep each other safe and sane.
