Project Summary
Title: "Pattern Recognition Across Scales: An Open Source Framework for Understanding Reality's Fundamental Structure Through Interface Theory"
Proposed Collaborators: UCI The Beilin Museum of Xi'an The Sakya Monastary Other institutions that have vulnerable artifacts OR data analysis tool needs
Goal: Our program leverages advanced imaging technologies to address the urgent preservation needs of vulnerable cultural artifacts, while simultaneously developing novel frameworks for understanding fundamental reality through Interface Theory. This dual-purpose approach allows us to create immediate practical value while pursuing deeper theoretical insights about the nature of consciousness, information, and physical reality.
Overview:
Our research program develops an open source framework to detect, analyze, and validate patterns across multiple scales of reality – from quantum phenomena to consciousness to ancient knowledge systems. Building on Interface Theory of Perception, we propose that reality is fundamentally information-based, with various interfaces (scientific instruments, human consciousness, cultural systems) providing different windows into this underlying structure. Through advanced data analysis of physical measurements (like LIGO gravitational wave data), systematic study of ancient knowledge systems, and open source pattern recognition tools, we aim to understand how information and consciousness manifest across different scales and systems. This work has implications for physics, consciousness studies, information theory, and cultural preservation. The tools developed will have broad applications, particularly in advanced data synthesis and 3D scanning of delicate cultural artifacts. Future development will be sustained through collaborations with entities requiring access to these tools.
