Researcher Agreement
This agreement ("Agreement") is entered into as of [Date] by and between The Multiverse School ("The School") and [Researcher Name] ("Researcher").
1. Agreement to Student Terms
The Researcher agrees to abide by the current student agreement of The Multiverse School.
2. Monthly Meetings
The Researcher agrees to meet with Liz, the founder of The Multiverse School, once a month to discuss progress, challenges, and future plans related to the research.
3. Equity Grant for Startups
If the Researcher starts a startup during their time in the research program or within one year after leaving the program, they agree to grant The Multiverse School 1% of the startup's equity. This equity supports The School’s ongoing programs and initiatives.
4. Status Reporting
The Researcher agrees to publish a weekly status report of their research on the internet. Each report must acknowledge The Multiverse School as a supporter or sponsor of the research.
5. Confidentiality
The Researcher agrees to maintain the confidentiality of any proprietary or sensitive information shared within the research program. This includes, but is not limited to, methods, results, and data.
6. Intellectual Property (IP) Rights
The Researcher agrees that any intellectual property developed during their time in the research program, which is directly related to educational materials or specific business cases discussed with Liz as part of the advisory nature of the program, may be co-owned by The School. The specific terms of co-ownership will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
7. Acknowledgment
The Researcher agrees to acknowledge The Multiverse School in any publications, presentations, or patents resulting from their research during or after the program.
8. Ethics and Compliance
The Researcher agrees to adhere to ethical research practices and comply with all relevant regulations and guidelines, including those related to academic integrity, data protection, and responsible conduct of research.
9. Termination Clause
Failure to meet the obligations outlined in this Agreement may result in termination from the research program.
10. Recourse for Non-Compliance with Equity Grant
- Legal Action: The Multiverse School reserves the right to pursue legal action to enforce the equity grant or seek damages for breach of contract.
- Reputation Clause: If the Researcher fails to grant The Multiverse School the agreed-upon equity, The School may publicly disclose the breach, which could negatively impact the Researcher's professional reputation and future opportunities within the academic and startup communities.
