Multiverse School Newsletter - 10/20/24

🛸 10/20/2024 Multiverse School Weekly Newsletter 🛸

Hey Multiverse Crew-

Woah, this last week has been plot-heavy. I'm currently in Detroit, doing my best impression of Nick Fury (in a universe where that whole secret invasion plotline never happened- it's the multiverse I get to pick my version of Nick Fury). I've assembled various avengers for various plots around the multiverse- some of which definitely intersect with your universe, and some of which I hope don't intersect with any universe.

Anyway, vague, cryptic hints aside, let's meet The Avengers. As you may recall, we're bringing Surviving The Singularity into The Multiverse! If you're not sure where to start on your Multiverse journey, look no further than right here.

That's been taking up some time, but a lot of it this week has been working with Andy Didorosi of Mutiny Professional Racing, and Joquin Navarro and our Chief Roboticist / faculty of the new Mutiny-Multiverse Robotics Collaborative Research Program. During this research phase, we'll be working on Robot Arms, Agentic Rovers, Action Models, Agentic Fire Trucks, and other various cool robot things, then we'll release it as videos, classes, and possibly kits so you can build your own open source robots.

I also want to introduce you to Ryan Orban, who founded Zipfian Academy out of one of Hackbright Academy's unused rooms, which later became the Galvanize Data Science program. I've worked on and off with Ryan for years, and he's coming in to help teach us how to do reinforcement learning, VSLAM, and other various machine-learning robot systems. Ryan's classes will be very technical and you will need a great deal of background to follow along.

We've also brought in John K Lindstedt (aka JKL, from the podcast!) to help teach Coding with AI which will focus entirely on how to use AI, Integrated Development Environments, and code together effectively. He'll transform your whole workflow in a short 90-minute session. John's been a radical educator and is stepping back into the world of teaching after a hiatus. I'm excited, John is a fun character with good thinky bits so I'm sure this class will be great. John should help us get a lot of smart folks through the learn-to-code phase of their career (especially since it's like 3 weeks now) so they can do what they want with technology as soon as possible.

In case you're wondering which Avenger from The Multiverse That Contains All Superheroes each person is, Liz is Nick Fury, Chris is Doctor Strange, Andy is Tony Stark, Ryan is Reed Richards, Joquin is Cyborg, John is Professor X, Francina Simone is Storm, and Caitlin is The Wasp. These were selected for us by gpt-4o after I gave it a PDF of their LinkedIn (try it y'all).
