Week 1 3 sessions
Effective Use of Large Language Models as Assistants
This workshop covers practical applications of large language models for tasks such as emotional priming, brainstorming, and summarizing documents. Participants will learn the differences between market and open-source models, the role of tokens in inference, and how to use effective language in prompts to improve performance.
Effective Use of Large Language Models in Analysis and Critique
This session focuses on utilizing large language models for editing, data structuring, and understanding model limitations and biases. Participants will learn to configure inference outputs using hyperparameters, apply Chain of Thought for better reasoning, and use models to analyze data and critique plans. System Prompts customization and knowledge decomposition techniques will also be covered.
Effective and Ethical Use of Large Language Models
The final workshop session emphasizes ethical considerations and the alignment of model outputs with human values. Participants will explore the use of Critical Theory, Reflection, and Metacognitive skills to enhance model reliability and quality. The session also covers creating a rubric for language models, using the Expert Reviewers strategy for model evaluation, and optimizing prompts to mirror expert-level queries.
