Multiverse School Newsletter - 06/23
🚀 06/23/2024 Multiverse School Weekly Newsletter 🚀 Hey Multiverse Crew,
Multiverse West has officially kicked off, Gene got here on Wednesday and had a job by Thursday! Get your butts out here you are missing the singularity. The most people will be here Mid-June, the 17-22. The Research Team Cohort (Sept 2023 - Mar 2024) is crashing on my various couches, it will be a very full house and I'm out of reasonable spots. Please log into the server and talk to your friends about going in on an AirBnB!
Don't forget:
Families in Gaza need our help.
Custom GPTs is this week! If you already know how to use a language model but want to learn about how to make your own Custom GPTs, join us!
If you're taking any two classes, this is a reminder that you should probably just do the all-you-can-attend membership. If you're interested in becoming a Researcher for a substantial discount, let me know in a 1:1 and we'll discuss it.
Multiverse Students Looking for Work
Everyone here has learned the cutting-edge Gen AI stuff we teach here, but now they're looking for work! Not everyone here has a network and could use your help! Please do me a favor and help these folks out with some introductions! You can hire them away BUT you are depriving me of their brain so it better be for a lot of moolah.
Here they are again in a different order! Order implies nothing, so I'm trying to mix it up every week. They're all fantastic, their main skill overlap is Generative AI.
- Cameron Sweeney : Looking for Back-End (Python, Math and Stats), Data, Gen AI, Prompt Engineering
- Kellyn von Arx : Looking for UX, UI, and Product design, Gen AI. Has some Python & Git experience, some Prompt Engineering experience
- Razi Alawamleh : Looking for Front-End (React & React Native) and Back-End work, Gen AI, Prompt Engineering, and does a great job with Product thinking.
- Eugene "Genie" Hwang : Found a job in less than 24 hours upon arriving in SF, but you may enter the bidding war still.
- Mea Isaacs : Novel Scale Senior Developer with Robotics and CyberSecurity looking for new opportunities changing what is possible with technology.
- Roan : Looking for CyberSecurity Red Team (pen testing) work, Gen AI work, working with me on The Swarm of Hacking AIs, has Python and CyberSecurity in spades, and TAs at The Multiverse School
- Liss McCabe : Senior developer, looking for full-stack work in Ruby, Python, React, Gen AI, Prompt Engineering
This Week's Classes
Monday, June 24
02:00 PM Retrieval Augmented Generation - Create a custom GPT that can retrieve knowledge from documents, decompose large amounts of knowledge into Sparse Priming Representation, and develop a complex prompt template. Sign Up
Tuesday, June 25
02:00 PM More Complex GPTs - Use the Expert Reviewers strategy to evaluate model output and refine it, use Expert Prompt Optimization to create a prompt as if it were written by a subject matter expert, develop a rubric after rigorous testing of inputs, design interaction protocols that enable responsible use of large language models, and develop a complex prompt template. Sign Up
05:00 PM Production Engineering Agents - Develop benchmarks for model performance and fine-tune GPT for specific inputs and outputs. Sign Up
Wednesday, June 26
02:00 PM An Unhinged Guide To Transformers with Teja Sunku - A deep and often unhinged dive into transformers, statistics, data science, and math where we code transformers and other deep learning mechanisms from scratch. Attendance is Multiverse Traveler Program Only
02:00 PM GPTs use Tools - Create a custom GPT that can retrieve knowledge from a public API, and create a custom GPT that can send data to Zapier or a webhook. Sign Up
06:00 PM Storytelling & Narrative Alignment with Francina Simone - Storytelling, Narrative, and Character development with Francina, who helps debug your creativity and your personal narrative, and work on your stories. Attendance is Multiverse Traveler Program Only
Thursday, June 27
05:00 PM Swarm Prototyping - Use multiple GPTs for conversation between personas and achieve predictably formatted outputs. Sign Up
Friday, June 28
12:00 PM Storytelling Hour - About actually telling your stories, and getting to have other people hear them. Technology has a strong oral tradition, most people learn a lot from the stories of others, so we like to share what we can about life, tech, and our own journey. Francina will choose on Wednesday who will speak on Friday, so be there if you want to tell a story! Attendance is Multiverse Traveler Program Only
Complex Adaptive Systems & Game Theory
The reading for this month is: Complex Adaptive Systems: Part 3: Computational Modeling, Chapter 6: Agent Based Objects
Part 4: Models of Complex Adaptive Social Systems: Chapter 7: A Basic Framework, Chapter 8: Complex Adaptive Social Systems in One Dimension
Upcoming Tracks and Classes
Prompt Engineering - Summer Cohort
Custom GPTs starts Monday, June 24 02:00 PM
